Nikon D3x reviews and previews
The Nikon D3 was introduced on December 1st 2008, a rather surprising time, considering Photokina was just a few weeks earlier. The camera doubles the number of megapixels from its trusty cousin, the critically-acclaimed Nikon D3. For more on the D3X, be sure to check the mini-blog and also the D3X diary.
Because this is so early in this camera's lifecycle, and we are using a slightly different format for this cluster of reviews. Please pay attention to the headings. These will change as more actual camera reviews get posted in the next few weeks/months.

While the DX3 is perfermance plus in many ways, its worth checking the speed at 14 bit. It is not 5 fps. Maybe a memory upgrade or a processor upgrade will do the trick?

They do have a history of buffer upgrades, so that could be a possibility. I'm not familiar with the camera internals, so I don't know what would be the limiting factor for 14-bit performance. It may be something that cannot be upgraded?
