Lightning Round Deals

You can't go wrong for $124
This is one of the best bang for the buck deals for people who like to use AA-battery powered digital cameras. The Canon A590 IS has just about everything you can ask for at this price, including image stabilization (4x lens), PASM (manual exposure, Tv, Av), face detection, along with DiGiC 3, 2.5" LCD, and an 8mp 1/2.5" sensor.

Memory card prices are falling, and if you are not jumping to higher megapixel cameras, you can actually "win" the storage-vs-megapixels game. With that in mind, the 4gb Sandisk SDHC card is on sale for $13.75 with free shipping at Adorama.

Compact digital cameras
And for more zoom range and RAW, the brand new Panasonic FZ28 has dropped to $320 at a couple of reputable retailers selling at Not bad considering the competition is at $350 or higher (P80, H50, SP570uz, etc).

A one-week long $200 instant rebate is offered at Adorama for all four Sony A700 outfits, starting at $1100 for the body only, and going up to $1600 for the A700 + 16-105 DT bundle. The biggest bang for the buck (in our opinion) is the A700H kit (A700 + 18-200 lens) going for $1300 with free sihpping.

General interest
One of the most recognizable retailers in the midwest, Abt Electronics is having their 72nd Anniversary. To celebrate this, they have a 12% off sale. Unfortunately digital cameras, computers and some big brands are not included in the sale, but a number of other items on their site are included. The linked page has the coupon code that will get you the 12% discount. Again, please keep in mind that digital cameras are not participating in this promotion.

If you have any suggestions, please let us know!

And please don't forget to browse the Noisy Store on Amazon.

DSLR Overviews: [Nikon] [Canon] [Sony] [Pentax] [Olympus] [Leica] [Panasonic]

While Adorama has free "handeling" it looks like the alpha 700 has free "sihpping". Does this mean it has a cup-holder?

LOL. The "sihpping" was a true typo. Cup-holder and one pound of coffee included! ;-)
