New Canon EOS-M2 mirrorless camera for Japan and China
Canon has announced their second mirrorless camera in their new EOS-M camera system, the new EOS-M2, but the new camera has only been announced in Japan and China. The new EOS-M2 promises better autofocusing and Wifi among other things.
The choice of markets may (or may not) perhaps be a sign where the EOS-M system is more popular, or to take a half-empty viewpoint, places where it is least unpopular. Needless to say, there is going to be a price to pay in the long run for Canon for launching a lackluster DSLR-sales-defending mirrorless system. Canon and Nikon half-kiestered mirrorless attempts give a bigger window of opportunity for the Fuji APS-C system and now Sony's full frame mirrorless system to pick up more interested photographers, running essentially unopposed from Canon + Nikon.
