Samsung IFA 2013: the era of Wrist Photography Has Began with Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch
The next big IFA 2013 after the Sony announcement was the Samsung IFA 2013 announcement at 1pm New York City time.
The event was live-streamed on YouTube by Samsung Mobile and covered at the The Verge Live Blog from IFA 2013 and The Engadget Live Blog. CNet has a live video stream (starts with 30s ad). Mystery Science Theater style coverage at Twit.tv. This was an elaborate production, including an "independent" MC-tech-"journalist".
Note 3 with 4K video
The Note 3 also comes with 4K video, becoming the second smartphone with 4K video out of the box (unless more were announced earlier today during the IFA 2013 announcement madness). It also has an LED flash and "smart stabilizer".
The Era of Wrist Photography Has Began!
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch has a camera attached to the wrist-strap, about 90 degrees from the face of the watch! If the screen rotates, then the camera can be on the inside or the outside of your wrist. This will sell for $300 with an October 2013 release estimate. Already compatible accessories for it available for pre-order at Amazon.
