New Samsung NX1100 mirrorless camera [updated]
A new mirrorless camera has been announced, it is the Samsung NX1100, a 20mp APS-C NX mount interchangeable lens digital camera coming bundled with the 20-50mm f3.5-5.6 II lens. Other features include a 3-inch 921 kilodot display, 1080p video, 8fps burst mode, external flash and Lightroom included, Wifi, and more.
The camera kit (NX1100 w/20-50, External Flash, Lightroom, etc) is available for pre-order at B&H Photo in either black or white for $700.
UPDATE #1: Photo Counter looked at the specs of the NX1000 and NX1100 and is wondering whether the NX1100 is a private label edition of the NX1000. This is not an uncommon practice at retail in general with some consumer electronics (eg laptops), and on occasion we have seen it happen with fixed lens P&S digital cameras. If this is so, then this may perhaps be the first time this happens with an interchangeable lens camera?
UPDATE #2: Imaging Resource says that the NX1100 is going to be more generally available in the near future.
If you are curious about the Samsung NX system but don't want to make a big investment in it, you can get its predecessor, the new-condition Samsung NX1000 with the 20-50 for $305 as the Woot Deal of the Day (expires on Wednesday at 1am ET). For a refresher on the NX1000, check its list of reviews.
