New Nikon A, a 16mp APS-C camera with a 28mm eq f2.8 prime lens [samples available]
Nikon joins the party of big sensor primes today with the announcement of the Nikon A, a 16mp APS-C digital camera with a 28mm equivalent f2.8 prime lens. Starting price is $1100, interestingly priced below the Fuji X100S. The European price is 1000 euro. Just like the D7100 DSLR, the A does not have a low-pass filter.
It does carry the Coolpix name. Nikon appears to have trouble coming up with camera names, out of all things, you name it "A"? :)
The camera has optional accessories, the DF-CP1 Optical Viewfinder will start at $450 SRP and the UR-E24 Adapter Ring and HN-CP18 Lens Hood will be bundled together for $120 SRP.
