Dxomark evaluates the Fuji XF1, faux-retro design cannot influence results

The Fuji XF1 faux-retro design is obviously intended to influence photographers and consumers to buy it because it looks much more camera-ish than a shiny silver box. But the Dxomark test results have no emotions, they cannot be influenced by the looks of the camera.

With that as a preface, here come the Fuji XF1 test results at Dxomark, along with their measurement analysis and their comparative analysis.

Keep in mind, the Fuji XF1 has a 2/3" sensor versus the 1/1.x" sensor that is more prevalent among most compact with RAW.

Fuji XF1 vs Other Compacts with RAW
+ XF1 vs X10 vs X-S1: vs Fuji's other 2/3" cameras
+ XF1 vs X20 (not measured yet)
+ XF1 vs Canon S110 vs S100: vs 1/1.x" compact compacts
+ XF1 vs Canon G15 vs G12: vs 1/1.x" G-series
+ XF1 vs Nikon Coolpix P7700 vs P7100: vs Nikon's 1/1.x" compacts avec RAWeaux
+ XF1 vs Panasonic LX7 vs LX5: vs the 1/1.x" LX-series
+ XF1 vs Olympus XZ-2 vs XZ-1: vs Olympus 1/1.x" XZ series
+ XF1 vs Pentax MX1 vs Samsung EX1/TL500: vs more 1/1.x" cameras (EX2f not measured yet)
+ XF1 vs Sony RX100 vs Canon G1x: vs larger-sensor zooms
+ XF1 vs Fuji X100: vs APS-C prime

Looking at the comparative test results versus the 1/1.x" compacts with RAW, one would be very hard pressed to deduce any sensor size advantage for the XF1, especially since some of the most recent 1/1.x" models actually have a slightly better ISO score. Perhaps Fuji used leftover sensors for it? :)

Fuji XF1 vs smaller sensor mirrorless
+ XF1 vs Pentax Q vs Q10: vs Pentax 1/2.x" mirrorless Q things
+ XF1 vs Nikon S1 vs J3: vs Nikon's 1-inch 1-System CX mirrorless
+ XF1 vs Olympus E-PL5 vs E-PM2: vs E-Pens

We could go on for hours and hours, but we have to stop at some point! As usual, keep in mind that Dxomark evaluations are specific tests, they are not intended to be end to end camera evaluations. But with a fixed lens camera, you can only use the one glued lens that is attached to the camera, so that variable is rather fixed.

Price-wise, the Fuji X-F1 in its three colorful colors goes for $400 at Amazon et al.
