DxoMark Strikes Again: Olympus XZ-2 Test Results

Dxomark is uber productive these days. Another day, another camera report finalized. Yesterday they evaluated the Panasonic LX7, today they evaluated another compact with RAW with a 1/1.x" sensor, the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 iHS. Here are their detailed lab test results along with the accompanying write-up: introduction and measurements discussion and comparative analysis and spartan conclusions.

Just a few hours ago we did the link-a-thon comparison-a-thon for the Panasonic LX7 vs Other Compacts with RAW, so we won't repeat the same exercise. Here is one comparison that frames it off yesterday's comparisons: Olympus XZ-2 vs Panasonic LX-7 vs Olympus XZ-1.

As usual, keep in mind, Dxomark is a specific suit of tests, it is not an end-to-end camera system evaluation. For more opinions on the camera, check the list of completed Olympus XZ-2 reviews. For reviews of other cameras in this segment of fixed lens compacts with RAW, check the list of completed RAWsumer reviews.

Olympus continue to believe in XZ-series exceptionalism, the XZ-2 is currently priced at $600 at Amazon and Adorama and B&H Photo.

Speaking of Olympus XZ-series compacts with RAW, the previously announced XZ-10 (1/2.3" compact compact with RAW) has been given a price for the US market, $400! Press release parade at dpreview et al.
