Dxomark Group-Test of five Super Wide Primes (Nikon, Zeiss, Sigma, Samyang)

Dxomark has been busy with new lens reviews, and perhaps the most interesting of their latest output is a group test of five super wide prime lenses from Canon, Nikon, Zeiss, Sigma and Samyang. They are all full frame primes, ranging from 14mm to 20mm. They are, in focal length order, the Samyang 14mm f2.8 IF ED, Sigma 14mm f2.8 EX, Zeiss 15mm f2.8 ZF.2, Zeiss 18mm f3.5 ZF.2, and Nikon 20mm f2.8 D.

This follows the usual Dxomark evaluation report with Introduction and measurements and comparative analysis and conclusions.

As with many comparisons, price is a variable and a meta-variable. Of all those, the lowest priced super-wide prime is the Samyang 14mm f2.8 going for $400 or less (eg B&H Photo) and the highest priced is the Zeiss 15mm f2.8 ZF/ZE going for around $3000 (eg B&H Photo)

More Lens Reviews
Dxomark has posted more individual lens reviews, including the Olympus 15mm f8 body cap lens and Canon and Olympus primes. See them all at the Dxomark website or the Lens Reviews stream.
