A denial, a denial: Olympus denies it will stop producing DSLRs

Olympus issued a short official statement denying they will stop DSLR production. The situation is summarized at dpreview with discussion starting up in the dpreview comments.

Whether this means continue to produce what's already available or produce new products, only time can tell for certain.

As a refresher, the most recent Olympus DSLRs are/were:

+ September 2010: Olympus E-5 flagship
+ August 2009: Olympus E-600 tweener
+ March 2009: Olympus E-450 - the last of the unstabilized compact DSLRs
+ February 2009: Olympus E-620: the leader of the 3-digit DSLRs
+ November 2008: Olympus E-30: the "deputy" to the previous flagship, a surprise announcement
+ May 2008: Olympus E-520
+ March 2008: Olympus E-420 - unstabilized compact DSLR

As you can see, the new-product stream dried up in recent years, so, perhaps, Scoreboard > Denials?
