Five more companies join Micro Four Thirds (Blackmagic, JK, Photron, Vistek, ViewPlus)
The Mother Hen of Micro Four Thirds, Olympus, has announced via press release that five more companies have joined Micro Four Thirds, headlined by Blackmagic Design. The other four are Kodak licensee JK Imaging, Photron, SVS-Vistek, and ViewPlus.
You have probably heard of Blackmagic Design already as they have been making some noise with their BlackMagic Design video cameras, one of which has a Micro Four Thirds mount.
Photron is a maker of high-speed cameras for use in industrial/research imaging applications. Not photographers' cameras.
SVS Vistek is a German company making specialized cameras. Their current featured cameras are the CCD-power SVCams. Again, these are industrial/research imaging applications, not photographers's's' cameras.
Last in the press release but definitely not least, is Japanese company ViewPlus whose current featured products are two 4K video cameras, the Lumiere and Lumiere 3D.
