New HTC One X+ flagship cameraphone with 8mp f2 lens

The competitive nature of the various smartphone manufacturers is also pushing them to compete on the camera modules. Sometimes the competition leads to image quality improvements, sometimes it leads to horsepower/megapixel contests.

Today HTC has announced a new flagship Android superphone, the HTC One X+, following up on the existing HTC One X. The new phone has an 8-megapixel sensor with an f2 lens. Also of photographer interest, this has 64GB of on-board memory, leaving more space for pictures. It has a 4.7-inch 1280x720 display.

Details on the new HTC One X+ at The Verge and Engadget and PC Magazine et al. More on this via Techmeme.

According to CNet News, this will be exclusive to AT&T in the US market.

The previous model, the HTC One X got a lot of praise for its imaging module. It is available for $20 on a two-year contract with AT&T in gray or white.
