Zeiss planning 55mm f1.4 T* manual focus full frame lens for ZE and ZF.2
In a Photokina round-up announcement at the official Zeiss blog, Zeiss has revealed (in the third paragraph) that they are planning to show a prototype of a new 55mm f1.4 T* manual focus full-frame lens at the 2012 Photokina trade show. The lens will be available in the Canon EOS mount (EF, aka ZE in Zeiss speak) and in Nikon F-mount (ZF.2 in Zeiss speak).
The Zeiss blog has a presentation-quality picture of the lens and says this lens will be the first in a new line of lenses. Zeiss claims...
"... Thanks to a newly developed optical design, this lens is superior to conventional full-frame lenses, and it achieves with powerful full-frame, full-format cameras an image performance that until now has only been seen with medium-format systems..."
