Zeiss announces three new autofocus primes for Sony NEX and Fuji X
Hide your wallets! Sell your cars! New Zeiss auto-focus primes are coming! Zeiss has announced three new auto-focus prime lenses for the Sony NEX e-mount and the Fuji X/XF system. The new primes are the 12mm f2.8 Distagon and the 32mm f1.8 Planar and the 50mm f2.8 macro. They were shown as mockups at Photokina. Yes, these are auto-focus!
Zeiss has posted a Q&A-style post about these new lenses at The Zeiss blog (official Zeiss blog; not fansite)
More on these at Photoscala.de and System Kamera Forum et al.
Interestingly, Micro Four Thirds was left out, yet the Fuji X/XF system was selected. Some M43rds fans may see this as a slight, but perhaps it was merely a strategic decision by Zeiss. There are very few (native) lens choices available on the Fuji X system, and the Fuji system is priced closer to the Zeiss price range. On the other hand, it is raining lenses for Micro Four Thirds.
