Sensor News: CMOSIS made Leica M sensor, new 1-inch 10mp Aptina
Who made the new live-view + movies sensor found in the new Leica M (2012 model)? It wasn't Sony. It wasn't Kodak. It is CMOSIS. They have confessed to doing so via press release on their website (via ISW blog).
In other sensor news, Image Sensors World writes that Aptina has press released a new 1-inch 10-megapixel sensor by the name of AR1011H, with mass production expected in the first quarter of 2013. There is some speculation that this (or something similar) might be in the Nikon Angry-Inch mirrorless cameras (CX-mount, 1-System).
On the megapixel war front, Image Sensors World says that Aptina has an 18-megapixel 1.25um backlit CMOS sensor, code named AR1820HS. Mass production is estimated for the third quarter of 2013.
