New Rolleiflex Hy6 Mod2 and twin-lens FX-N MF TLR (film) and Electronic Shutter
The Rolleiflex brand has announced three new products today in the build-up to the Photokina 2012 trade show:
The first Rolleiflex Hy6 was announced at Photokina 2006 (see Photoscala.de).
TLR fans may perhaps rejoice in the announcement of a new TLR camera, the Rolleiflex FX-N! Photoscala notes that this model has a new 55cm focusing distance and has different names for the two lenses (Heidosmat and Rollei S-Apogon). The older Rolleiflex FX 2.8 named their lenses Planar (see the older camera's specs at B&H Photo). The rest of the specs are similar to the previous model. For our younger viewers, this is a film camera. Film is like a write-once memory card that needs special processing with chemicals and dark rooms before you can "see" the pictures taken.
For a TLR primer, see Wikipedia and hope Colbert did not decide to change the TLR page contents ;-).
