New Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 flash with a Touchscreen

Touchscreen mania continues to advance in the world of photography. Metz has announced what is likely to be the first flash with a touchscreen display! It is the new Mecablitz 52 AF-1! This was announced at Photokina, see announcements at Photoscala.de and FotoIntern.ch, but it has now started making the rounds on english-speaking websites as well, such as Imaging Resource and Lighting Rumors.

The touchscreen is not just there for the buzz, it offers up the flash's settings and controls. It is will be interesting to see how it performs and how it is greeted by photographers who are used to buttons and dials and knobs and wheels and such. As usual, only time will tell...
