New Canon G15 compact with RAW (12mp 1/1.x", f1.8-f2.8, etc)

Canon has decided to stay at the 1/1.x" sensor size with its new Canon G-series model, the G15. It has modest 12mp megapixelation on 1/1.7x" CMOS sensor and a bright 5x optical zoom lens that is f1.8 to f2.8 (28-140mm eq). RAW obviously continues in the G-series.

The Canon G15 is priced at $500 and available for pre-order with a both an October 2012 and a September-18-2012 (!) release estimate.
