Self-Serving Myth-Information, KR-style

A certain politician from the great state of Missouri was not the only one to jump the shark this week. "Super guru" Ken Rockwell posted a self-serving myth-information post, suggesting something along the lines of camera manufacturers sending the good cameras to their favorite big online retailers and bad cameras (the ones with bad pixels and other problems) to smaller local retailers. Or something like that. Judging by the various forum posts, the original KR post was edited some to "soften" some of the claims. No examples or proof were offered that this is actually happening.

We typically ignore the KR viral/bait-posts but this type of myth-information is very irresponsible. Not only that, but it reflects very poorly on the online retailers that are "promoted" through this.

Discussion of this "revelation" at Thews Reviews and Flickr D800 User Group and dpreview Nikon FF forum.
