The compacts-with-RAW mini-revival continues with a new Nikon Coolpix digital camera announcement! It is the brand new Coolpix P7700, with a 12mp 1/1.7" CMOS sensor, a 28-200mm equivalent lens-shift-VR lens with a more generous f2.0-f4.0 and RAW! The arrival of a CMOS sensor also means the arrival of 1080p video. Other features include a 3-inch (921 kilodot) twist-and-shout display, hot-shoe, SDXC support, etc, etc, etc. The starting price is $500 and it is in the all-encompassing "temporarily out of stock" status at Amazon.
