Samsung lowers EX2f compact-avec-RAW price to $500

It is always nice when manufacturers sniff the wind and make quick adjustments. The new compact-with-RAW Samsung EX2f was announced with a price of $550, but now the company decided to drop the price by $50 to $500 according to dpreview.

The EX2f has a smaller sensor than other recently-announced compacts-with-RAW. The Sony RX100 with a 1" sensor starts at $650, while the Canon G1x with its near-APS-C sensor is around $720-$730. For a refresher on sensor sizes and notations, check dpreview.

The new price has already been reflected at Adorama and B&H Photo which have early August release estimates. B&H specifically points to August 10, 2012.
