One of the most popular the-one-you-have-with-you cameras in recent years is the iPhone*.* and now new rumors at iMore.com pin-point Wednesday September 12, 2012 as the iPhone 5 announcement date, and Friday September 21 as the release date (the first day you can get it in your hands). The aforelinked post only covers announcement dates, it does not have specifications for the camera unit. (via Techmeme).

PS: Often times the terms announcement and release are used interchangeably in the photo-blogo-forum-sphere, but that's not accurate. An announcement is an announcement, a release is a release. Think of it in terms of music, when they say the new Lumineers album is going to be released on Tuesday, it means you can go to the record store and buy it on Tuesday (assuming you can find a record store!). When the Lumineers announce their new album, you can still go to the record store but you have to wait for a few weeks/months before you can buy their new album.
