Revenge of the multiple product names hits Canon T4i/650D/Kiss X6i
The very un-consumer-friendly practice (in the internet era) of giving the same camera different names in different countries and regions has exacted some revenge today as Canon has mangled up the EXIF data in some D-Rebel T4i models in North America. Their EXIF data show the Japanese name of Kiss X6i instead of the North American name of D-Rebel T4i. The European name is 650D, which is the purest of all the names since it actually fits with the naming scheme of the remaining Canon DSLR lineup. Details via Imaging Resource.
Did you also know that the D-Rebel T4i is known as the Butterfly 400 on the Mars Colony and it is known as the Sorbo ZZ-808 in parts of the Andromeda galaxy that have not fallen under Nikon occupation? ;-)
