Canon D-Rebel T4i/650D teardown talks TI, Phase Detection, and more
Chipworks is back with a new teardown, this time opening up the Canon D-Rebel T4i/650D. The teardown focuses (no pun intended) on the T4i's Phase Detection auto focus system, comparing it to their findings on the Aptina sensor of the Nikon V1. On the image processor front, they find Texas Instruments designs and Elpida memory. The Chipworks report is free to read. Via and discussion at Image Sensors World.
Speaking of the T4i/650D, here is something interesting, if not perhaps a bit curious: the camera has been steadily available for purchase for weeks now, yet, we have zero completed reviews of the camera. Hmmmm?
