Rumors: Canon Mirrorless system launching July 24?

It's been a few months since we had the launch of a new mirrorless camera system, but that may change soon according to a new rumour at Canon Rumours: July 24, 2012 sounds like the date of such an announcement. As usual with announcement, the actual date may vary slightly depending on your time zone.

Some people are looking for hints in recent Canon developments, for example, the sensor of the Canon G1x and the announcement the new 40mm f2.8 STM pancake lens for the EF mount. Once the optical cooks start making pancakes, they can't stop ;-)

While that's one month away, our "Review Volume Index Indicator" (RVII) suggests other announcements are coming. The RVII is simple: when the number of non-inconsequential reviews from NDA sites is down, the chances of an upcoming camera announcement are higher. This of course could be because of many other factors as well, so it is not a guaranteed predictor.
