Fuji reveals X-system lens roadmap for 2012 and 2013: 4 primes, 3 zooms
Fuji has officially revealed via press release their lens roadmap for their new X/XF interchangeable lens camera system for 2012 and 2013. Without further ado, here is the roadmap...
As you can see, there are four primes (one pancake) and three zoom lenses. So Fuji is definitely not going the prime-purity route. All three zooms lenses are optically stabilized, perhaps crashing hopes for sensor-shift stabilization in future bodies. As you can tell from the picture above, there are two new lenses coming this year, and five more in 2013.
Fuji previously hinting that more and more-affordable bodies are in the pipeline, so perhaps the roadmap above can perhaps offer some vague and nebulous hints.
Press release parade at Fuji Global et al. No hands-on or previews, since, obviously, this is just a lens roadmap. Although someone could print it and then do a "hands on video" on YouTube, "Hands On With the Fuji Lens Roadmap" :) Not that I am encouraging anyone to do this, but if you do, please let me know so I can post it here :)
