Photography jumps on another bandwagon: new Facebook Camera app
Photography continues to get drawn into some of the major hubs of the new tech-bubble, this time it is Facebook! The AOL of the 2010s has just announced the new Facebook Camera app! Details and coverage of the app among the various tech blogs can be found via Miss Techmeme.
Mike Isaac at All Things Mossberg connects the dots between this new development and the Instagram purchase by Facebook.
It will be interesting to see how this new development will impact the various independent camera apps, now that one of the mega-apps is offering photo sharing capabilities. As you can see at the Facebook Camera app page, the app also promotes its "Quickly Edit Photos" capabilities.
The new Facebook camera app is available for free on iTunes (USA store). It is compatible with the following blessed divine amazing super-sensational iDevices:
+ iPhone 4S, 4, and 3GS
+ iPod touch (4th generation)
+ iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad Wi-Fi + 4G
+ requires iOS 4.3 or later
I don't know if/when it will be available on other platforms. As of the time of writing, it is not listed under the Facebook apps at the Google Android Market (no, I will not call it Google Play!)
