New blog experiment: shortcut icons to hard-to-find camera stock pages
We have a new experimental feature on the blog, we have added shortcut icons to the stock status pages of the latest hot and/or hard to find digital cameras at the top of the blog pages. This can make it easier for you to check at any time you wish. This is also the best way for you to help keep this website going - by making your purchases through those pages. Also, in the first paragraph of those pages you will find a link to the list of completed reviews for that particular camera.
UPDATE: The boxes will not always be there. When there are breaking news or other time-sensitive matters, the boxes will be temporarily replaced with the breaking news. For example, the Panasonic GF5 announcement on the night of April 4-to-5, 2012.
The icons are very lightweight, around 1K each, and they are static, so the browser will only load them once. They are embedded on the page, so there is no script to slow down the loading. We will manually rotate other cameras, thus avoiding the potential slowdowns of having a script at the top of the page.
