Nikon D700 and D300s refuse to die
Rumors of the early demise of the Nikon D700 and D300s have been greatly exaggerated Nikon told ePhotozine. According to Nikon, the D700 and D300s have been discontinued in Japan because of a new "Electrical Appliance and Material Safety law" in Japan, but production and shipment continues outside Japan.
Which brings up an interesting question - what exactly is the issue with the cameras and the Japanese Safety law? Is it a mere technicality or bureaucracy or something more serious?
