New Samsung DV300F camera with dual LCDs and Wifi

Happy New Year with the first new digital camera announcement of 2012! Samsung has just revealed the DV300F on its own blog. This is a dual LCD (front and back) camera (Samsung calls them 2View nowadays) with built-in Wifi! It has a 5X Samsung-branded lens starting at 25mm (equivalent). The sensor is 16 megapixels. It takes microSD memory cards (not full size SD). The front LCD is 1.5 inches.

Interestingly the Wifi feature allows them to put hooks into the Microsoft Skydrive (cloud drive with free 25GB of storage). Perhaps Samsung's experience in smartphones is giving them an advantage in "modernizing" digital camera connectivity features? (although judging by their Galaxy mp3 players, non-smartphone devices may be trailing the smartphone features by a generation or more).

This brand new camera has been added to the just-launched Cameras of 2012 reference page which is currently dominated by Samsung ;-)
