Leica announces new V-Lux 3 superzoom (don't call me Panasonic FZ150)

We have a "new" camera announcement! Leica has revealed a brand new product, the Leica V-Lux 3 superzoom, which is based on the Panasonic FZ150 {see reviews}. It will come out in January 2012 with a starting price of 750 euro in Europe and $950 in the USA and 690 GBP in the UK. I am not familiar with European prices, but in the US, the FZ150 currently goes for $400. A Leica tax of 2.4x! Great for the 1-percenters ;-) This adds one more camera to the list of 2011 cameras, with a total of 203 plus probably a few more basic entry-level P&S cameras that were quietly released and near-universally ignored.
