New Fuji X-S1 2/3" CMOS superzoom with RAW is officially announced
(This is tape-delayed coverage of news that came out November 24, 2011)
Fuji is single-handedly trying to lead the revival of the 2/3" sensor in digital cameras, and with the launch of the 1-inch Nikon mirrorless system, they can make a case for an in-between sensor-size. With that as an unnecessary preface, here is the new Fuji X-S1 superzoom camera, with its 12mp 2/3" EXR CMOS sensor (same as the X10 as stated in Fuji's press release) and 26X (24-624mm f2.8-5.6 equivalent) optical zoom lens with image stabilization and RAW. The opening price in the UK is GBP 700, and 700 euro in continental Europe. It will come out in Jan/Feb 2012.
