Kodak sells Image Sensors Solutions to Platinum Equity (private firm)
Kodak has just issued an official press release announcing that they have sold their Image Sensors Solutions business to Platinum Equity (private firm based in California). The sale includes a big facility in Rochester. Press release at Imaging Insider and Yahoo Finance, and Business Wire, recap at Reuters. This has prompted another iteration of "will Kodak survive?", this one at CNBC.
This is also of interest to Leica and Pentax as some of their sensors are developed by Kodak... And what will Platinum Equity do eventually with their newly acquired business?
Reactions among users of affected brands at the L-Camera forum (english). Eventually this will also be discussed in the PentaxForums (645D connection)
