Chasseur rumorizes 18mp Nikon D800 and 36mp Nikon D900

(This is tape-delayed coverage of rumors that came out November 25, 2011)

The french magazine Chasseur d'Images (CDI) is rumorizing that Nikon will launch an 18-megapixel Nikon D800 DSLR, along with a 36-megapixel Nikon D900 DSLR (without AA filter) according to a long and winding discussion in the dpreview Nikon forums. Prices are mentioned but I am not sure if the prices in the forum post are currency-conversions or were part of the CDI rumor.

Rumor Numerology Segment: Interesting that both the D800 and D900 are rumored to have a 50% increase in megapixels over the D700 and D3x respectively.
