Ricoh planning a "fill in the gap" product in 2012
In an interview with Marketing Magazine (via Rice High), the Ricoh UK marketing director said that the company is planning a product that will fill a gap in the market in 2012. We obviously don't know how big this gap might be. It could be a strategic niche gap or perhaps a bigger gap, he didn't say. Marketing's definition of "gap" is often different from a photographer's. The biggest gap in the market at the moment, from a camera perspective, is between the $1X00~ mirrorless and the $7000 Leica rangefinders. The Ricoh marketing dude also said that they are going to get more aggressive in marketing.
