New Canon SX40 HS superzoom
Canon has revealed a new superzoom in its long line of SX-series models. Meet the new SX40 HS, switching the name from IS to HS as Canon has recently done with other models. The camera features a 35x stabilized optical zoom lens (24-840mm eq), a 12mp 1/2.3" backlit CMOS sensor (no 16mp!), 1080p video, 10fps burst mode (8 shots), 2.4fps (until the card is full), etc.
Still if you had been hoping or holding out for RAW, please continue holding out. No RAW! The camera will come out later this month for $430 in the USA (available for pre-order) and 450 euro in Europe. Interesting that both the SX40 HS and the new S100 have the same prices.
