The Trouble Repor(t): Nikon Coolpix L23 catches "fever"

UPDATE (July-15-2011): The advisory alert is now out in other countries as well, including Nikon USA. Press release parade at Photography Blog, Photoscala, et al. This is more troubling that we could make out from the computer translation. Apparently the camera can overheat even when turned off - just by connecting it to the AC adapter OR putting new batteries in.

ORIGINAL POST: Nikon Japan has issued a trouble repor(t) for the Nikon Coolpix L23. See the notice at DC Watch Impress (computer translated). The computer-translation is epic in this case, it says the camera gets a fever! Based on the computer translation, it appears that the camera can overheat when connected with the AC adapter and the top of the camera may get "deformed" (computer-translated word). The Nikon Japan support page has the range of serial numbers affected. I do not know if this is a Japan-only problem or other markets are also affected.
