Rumors: mythical mystical Canon 3D coming next year?

A new rumor under July-10-2011 at Northlight Images notes some chatter about a Canon 3D coming next year, and one of the rumor forks says it might have a 3D sensor. Please note these are rumors, especially considering the mythical and mystical nature of a "Canon 3D".

Speculation: Perhaps Canon has been "saving" the 3D name for an actual three dimensional 3D camera? From a profit-priority perspective, SLR manufacturers would be better off coming up with two-lens/two-mount 3D DSLRs. That way they can sell two of each lens. Or even add new "3D syncing" technology to the lenses, so they can sell everyone the same lenses all over again :-) You can't underestimate the power of gr33d in product planning ;-) Please note this paragraph is pure speculation!
