Rumors: chatter of Canon "S100" (S95 replacement)

Canon Rumors writes that there is chatter of a Canon "S100" [see update below], a replacement for the S95, making an inventory-system appearance. The rumor says 5x optical zoom and 12mp sensor, however, there is no indication yet whether they will continue with CCD sensors (which offer slower burst modes and video options) or jump to CMOS sensors. Unlike 1/2.3" sensors, 1/1.x" sensors are rare these days.

UPDATE: Omar writes in the comments below that there was an actual Canon Elph/Ixus/Ixy S100 camera model back in 2000 (see dpreview), which was released a few months after the Y2K "crisis"!
