Sony financial troubles: a $4 billion change in earnings estimates for fiscal year
A combination (among other things) of the natural disasters in Japan and the Playstation hack-a-thon have caused Sony to revise their earnings estimates for the 2011 fiscal year ending March 31, 2011. The revision is a dramatic net change of $4~ billion, taking them from profitable to a loss of $3.2 billion.
As I mentioned previously in the superunknown, only time will tell what type of impact these may have on their digital camera business. And we may never really know, since their R&D and planning are not publicly available.
