Nanoha macro lens for NEX/M43rds (with up to 5x magnification) getting close to mass production
Japanese company Yahusahara introduced their new Nanoha lens for mirrorless camera systems (NEX and M43rds) on April 20, 2011. This is a different type of a macro lens, and can offer magnification of up to 5x. The company has a few pages in English giving an overview of the concept, showing three diagrams of the lens and main specs, and explains how to use it. They also have a pogoplug gallery which currently has three samples. You can get to full resolution by clicking through the options.
Fast-forward to now, and Japanese website DC Watch Impress (computer translated) has had a detailed hands-on look at the lens and posted various full-size close-up samples taken with the Panasonic GF2, including match-sticks, pen-heads, and t-shirt fibers too. According to the computer-translation, mass production of this lens will begin in late June 2011. The price mentioned is 50,000 yen.
