Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 lenses for M43rds and NEX/E-mount at NAB 2011 (did Zeiss leak news of new M43rds camcorder(s) coming?)
Carl Zeiss is announcing that during the NAB 2011 trade show (April 9-14, 2011), they will be showing their Compact Prime CP.2 lenses for both the Micro Four Thirds and the Sony E-mount (NEX). These are video-priority lenses, continuing the Zeiss CP lineage. Press release parade at Imaging Resource, dpreview, DC Views, et al.
The first paragraph of the aforelinked press release has something perhaps revealing, or perhaps a typo or a translation snafu. It says, (bold added for emphasis), "The MFT mount is particularly suitable for the new corresponding professional camcorders". Note the keywords "new" and plural for camcorders. As you may recall, there is only one M43rds professional camcorder, the Panasonic AF-AG100. It goes by different regional names, but it is the same device.
