I am sure all of you have seen the devastation in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami and are monitoring the on-going crisis at the nuclear plants. A simple way to help is offered by social shopping website LivingSocial. They are matching $5 donations to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Fund on their website. You donate $5, and they donate another $5 of their own money, for a total donation of $10. As simple as that.

This is a well-funded start-up, including investments from Amazon and Steve Case - according to CrunchBase. If you are cautious with your online shopping, you can always create a virtual credit card number with your credit card company - if you don't want them to have your regular number.
