GE planning to launch interchangeable lens system in 2011?
The action continues with GE! According to CNet Asia, GE is looking to launch an interchangeable lens system in 2011! This came from a spokesperson of the GE distributor in Singapore. Specifics have not been revealed. (this is not an official announcement, but a spokesperson of the distributor spoke on the record)
GE is a big company, but so far, their digital cameras have been mostly of the "shiny silver clone" variety. Their "top" fixed lens cameras are (at best) and being very polite, entry-level to mid-level P&S cameras.
Speculation
So if we put on our speculative hat, what would GE do? Launch its own system from scratch? Probably not? Join Micro Four Thirds? Join the Sony E-mount or the Samsung NX?
Or perhaps, in keeping with the current price range of their line-up, join and/or offer rebranded versions of the rumored Pentax and previously announced Kenko 1/2.3"-sensor'ed system?
