Speculation: Announcements coming? (the "Review Volume" indicator)

Since we track and round-up camera reviews on a regular basis, we have developed a very informal and unscientific prediction indicator to speculate whether new camera announcements are coming.

The idea is that websites who know that a new burst of announcements are coming, logically would not want to publish new camera reviews right before an announcement burst. Because the new reviews would get buried quickly, both webpage-position-wise and reader-attention-wise.

Which brings us to today! Today has been a very very quiet Monday in terms of new camera reviews. Maybe the reviewers are still recovering from wild Oscar weekend parties, or perhaps manufacturers are preparing a variety of announcements in the lead up to the UK "Focus on Imaging" trade show that opens its doors March 6-9, 2011 in Birmingham.
