JVC GC-PX1 hybrid 10x HD camera w/300fps and Konica-Minolta lens
JVC (Victor) showed a high-speed concept camera at CES 2011 (see it at Photography Bay). This camera is now becoming an actual product in Japan, with a late February release date. The specs, according to DC Watch Impress (computer translated) and also the JVC website (computer translated) are:
+ 10mp 1/2.3" backlit CMOS sensor
+ 10x zoom lens (38.5-385mm eq) f2.8-4.5 with the Konica-Minolta name on it and optical stabilization
+ 3" tilting touch-screen display
+ high speed shooting up to 300fps at lower resolutions
+ manual exposure, shutter priority, aperture priority and such
+ 32GB internal memory plus SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot
+ H.264 1920x1080 60p 36Mbps video
+ FalconBird engine
+ ISO up to 6400
+ LiIon battery w/320 shots
+ 515grams with battery
+ initial production output: 1000 units per month
The low monthly production number may perhaps hint, that at least initially, this may be a Japan only product.
The camera body looks like a cross between the back of a Sony NEX and the old Sony F-series/Minolta A-series and 7i/7Hi (corrected; H-series; thanks @aafuss) fixed-lens cameras with RAW of a few years ago.
