PMA is now officially CliQ (but press release does something stupid)

PMA has officially changed its name to CliQ! Press release at Imaging Insider et al, and a new website CliqWorld.com is officially launched. The trade show itself will take place Sept 6-9, 2011 in Las Vegas.

If you read through the press release, you may notice something unusual, it says...

"...The launch of the CliQ website, at cliqworld.com features how-to tips, new product reviews from DP Review..."

Whaaat? That doesn't sound right. Why on earth would dpreview hand over their reviews to some random website? Well, it turns out they are NOT. Cliq simply has a list of reviews that point to dpreview's pages with the reviews.

It is stupid things like this that give PR/marketing people a bad name, and why a number of photographers, geeks and techies have a visceral revulsion to PR/marketing.
