New Google Samsung Nexus S smartphone shows megapixel restraint with five
The Google and their manufacturing partner Samsung have shown megapixel-restraint in the new just-announced Google Nexus S smartphone (Android 2.3), with a five-megapixel camera on the back. The official specs do not mention sensor-size. I haven't read every post about it, so I don't know if any of the Android forums or sites have more details on the cameras. But there's already one review out of it at ...Tech Crunch.
On the other hand, unlike cameras, you can't just shuttle memory cards in and out of smartphones, so it is in their best interest (in terms of storage management) to show megapixel-restraint :)
