Olympus E-5 to ship October 29, gets reviewed at Quesabesde and DC Watch
It's been three years in the making, so there is more pent up interest among 4/3rds users in the new Olympus E-5. And Olympus Japan has announced (see digitalcamera.jp et al) that the camera will be released on October 29, 2010.
Meanwhile, Quesabesde has published their review of the E-5, which includes their usual excellent hands-on photos, samples including RAW, along with two sets of ISO-range comparisons (computer translated).
Next up we fly to Japan where computer-translated DC Watch Impress has published their review of the camera, and as usual, they include plenty of real-world full-size JPEG samples. Also, of interest specifically to current 4/3rds users, they have some ISO comparison images versus the E620.
For whatever reason, Olympus DSLRs seem to bring out a lot of "drama", and this review is no exception, as you can see in this long dpreview forum thread.
The E-5 body only is currently available for pre-order at Amazon, Adorama, et al.
