SD Association promises 3X faster SDHC/SDXC cards for 2012

If the world does not end in 2012, we may get SDHC/SDXC memory cards that are three times as fast [allegedly], reaching (interface bus) speeds up to 300MB/sec, according to new information coming from the SD Association, the Guardians of the SD Flame! This came out as an announcement at the IFA 2010 trade show that has tipped off this week in Berlin. The specification (version 4.0) will be completed sometime in 2011. The cards will be compatible with older devices, but obviously you will need newer devices to make the most of them in terms of speed. Will they come out just in time for 4K video? :)
